Little Buggy.

After much deliberation, I purchased a little buggy for Miss K. I needed something else to push her around the block. I went back and forth on this buggy thing, because, as you can see, it's operation fully relies on someone pushing it. Kennedy doesn't get to do any of the work. But I finally chose this because it will serve the purpose of allowing us to go on "fun" walks to see the other kids in the neighborhood. I will probably get her a little trike type thing at her 2nd birthday, or once summer begins, but I went to Toys R Us this morning and they have all of their scooters set up. One guy pulled his kid out of the cart and set him on a few of the options. I asked how old the child was, and low and behold, he is 2o months. Perfect. Since I didn't have K w/ me, I was having a terrible time estimating whether K was tall enough to scoot or pedal...Basically, she wouldn't be able to do either, so I chose my original choice of the buggy. Thanks to Erin for measuring Hailey on her Barbie trike - that was going to be my next choice, but I just don't think K would appreciate it yet. Maybe in a couple of months.

And, I must say, K agreed w/ my choice. She saw the picture on the box - it was right after nap, so she was a little groggy. But, man, her eyes perked up when she saw that box! I opened it up and pulled it out, and she hopped RIGHT ON!!!! She loved it instantly. Of course, this meant I had to push her all around the house since it was too cold out today. It will def be an OUTSIDE toy.

Growing Big. She is.

I am just amazed every day at how big my little princess is getting! She is talking more and more and she is actually beginning to make some sense. Don't get me wrong, you still can't understand most of what she is saying, but SHE sure knows what she is talking about. She just rattles on non stop. And she repeats whatever she is saying, so I just know that one day she will surprise us with full blown sentences. Sometimes it is hard to distinguish what it is she is trying to say because she uses the same word for multiple words - like, she says Barney and Bunny and they both come out "Baaaawney" so you have to be careful how you reply. If she is saying Bunny and you think it is Barney and you say "Barney?" - then she HAS to watch Barney.

Yesterday, we went to our friend Asher's 4th birthday! It was so much fun to let the kids play. They are getting old enough now that they don't need our constant attention and it makes it a whole lot easier. Once the weather warms up, we will have people over for play dates in our new play room! Yeah!

After the birthday party, we had our friend Ian over (his mommy needed to use the computer!) and he and Kennedy played sooo well together - he drove the car and Kennedy rode in the back. Yes, he DOES have a barrette in his hair. And no, they are not TOO close to the TV. Well, maybe, but they did it all on their own. It was too cute:)

Ring Pop Anyone?

JUST CHECKING!!!!!!!

Someone gave us a Ring Pop for Valentine's Day. A BLUE RASPBERRY Ring Pop no less:) Thank you to that person...

I have waited until I needed a moment to bring out the Ring Pop, knowing this would give me a good 10-15 minutes that Noggin or Barney couldn't touch...boy was I right. She couldn't put this thing down. LOVED IT. I only let her have it for about 5 minutes, just enough time for me to get dinner started, and by the time I got back to her, she had the BLUEST lips and fingers and of course there was hair stuck EVERYWHERE. Yuck. But she loved it.

I've got a package for you! Surprise!!!!

We hope you had a lovely Valentine's Day! We sure did! The days leading up to the big day weren't as fun though...Tuesday the 10th, when I picked K up from Lorie's, she was having a febrile seizure. Right as I rang the doorbell it happened. Long story short, we rushed to Mercy and all was fine. The Dr. said that a virus caused her to have a reduced fever threshold and a quick spike in her temperature caused the seizure. We had a follow up w/ our pediatrician and he explained it all to us.
Then, Kennedy had a Valentine's Day party at Lorie's on Friday. SO EXCITING! Except I forgot to take a picture in her little pink sweater. So, next time she wears it, I will post it and remark that it was the one she wore on V Day. We were told to expect a little snow on the way home on Friday. Yeah. A "little snow" turned in to a 2.5 hour trip home. It normally takes us 25 minutes. It was just so darn slick. Every hill we went down or up - we got stuck (either on the hill in our car or in a long line of standstill traffic). Thankfully, all of our friends from Lorie's sent us home with goodies. That kept us from screaming the entire way home.
Finally, Valentine's Day. We went shopping at like 9am! It was super fun. Kennedy did pretty well for being contained for a long period of time. We ate us some Chick Fil-A and picked up some new spring clothes from the Children's Place. And a new TV for Daddy's new bar. And, Grandma Julie and Papa Brian brought up some V Day presents. Kennedy got a new pillow.
It is little, just her size. She loved the bag it came in. Don't you think?

Chicken Table Desk

So, we have this table (we call it the chicken table because Jon's Great Grandma Lilly used to chop chickens on it)...anyway, there's a panel at the base of the table and Kennedy has decided that it is super fun to climb under the desk and sit at the panel, just like a homemade desk. Tonight, Jon thought it would be funny to give her her laptop. She loved it! And she loved to peek through the slats. She was down there for a good 20 minutes. Typing away!

Tropics? No, it's Iowa!

The weather was GORGEOUS on Saturday. We had so much fun. We went on a walk in our wagon, but because Kennedy is so smart, she figured out how to wiggle out of the straps on the wagon. Yes, I could have tightened them, but that would have been too much work - especially since I was already in the middle of the walk. After she figured out how to get out, she thought it was soooo much fun to switch seats while we were moving. Back and forth. Back and forth. She forgot about the walk; all I heard was "Whoa!" about every 10 seconds. Silly girl.

After we got back from the wagon ride; Kennedy decided she wanted to run. I tried to trick her by walking back to our house and into our garage; I even said 'bye bye' - she had none of it. She just kept going the other way. So by the time I got to her she was in the neighbors garage. And then I practically had to drag her back to the house because she turned to a noodle and I couldn't pick her up and she wouldn't walk. Oh, did I mention she was screaming? She did NOT want to go inside. But we made it.

I cry when I can't have the "big" cup....

It has been forever since I last blogged! Sorry about that:) We have been so busy trying to get our basement finished but it is pretty much done now, so I should get back to regular blogging...

Today we went to our friend Lisa's house. She has a 2 year old, Ian and a little baby boy due in about a month - super exciting. Our other friend Darci came over too and brought her 4 year old, Asher and her 14 month old, Della. We played and ate cupcakes. And we had to have a "big" cup. Kennedy is really set on only drinking out of cups without lids. The problem? She isn't very good at it. Actually, she spills most of the beverage. So I put about an ounce in the glass and she is good to go. She seems to be getting better at it - but only when sitting. She tries to walk and do things, like pick up toys from the floor. All with her cup in hand. Of course it spills all over. Oh well. Here are some photos from this morning at Lisa's.
