Fireflies, Monkeys, Fish, Bunnies & Donkeys...is that enough for one weekend?

We started last weekend by helping Papa Brian celebrate his bday. After dinner at the Wig, we went to the Miller's house. I am sooo amazed by how Addie and Kennedy play together. There was no crying or fighting, but just pure playing. They shared the riding toys, the dress up clothes and the babies. Amazing. Here is a picture of Papa and the girls looking for lightening bugs. I think they found one:)
This is Kennedy sharing a cup of water w/ Addie. Addie only had a diaper on, so I didn't feel right posting pics of her, but man there are some cute ones, you'll just have to trust me.
Here is Kennedy posing w/ a 5lb bass that Papa caught at Grandma Fae's. Kennedy is sooo not afraid of fish, unlike me. She wanted to hop right up on his lap to get a closer look...
In this picture, Kennedy is looking for monkeys. No, there are no monkeys in my grandma's yard, but Kennedy was sure she would find some. She was yelling, "monkey! where are you?" over and over again...too cute. not to mention how brave she was standing on this wood fence all alone.
This week is the 4H fair in Johnson County, IOWA. Yes, there is one in Indiana as well, trust me, I googled it and was all set for the fair last week, however that was in Indiana...my bad. I didn't get many pics, b/c I was sooo busy chasing K and telling her to get her hands (actually, entire arms) out of the sheep pens. She was going crazy over the sheep. Trying to hug and kiss them all. They just ran from her as best as they could. Here is a bunny.
and a donkey. She squealed at it and it tried to run away. terrified of a little peanut..

Big Girl at the park:)

We found a really cool park (thanks Jen!) and it is sooo nice! It has 2 play things and then lots of room for picnics and SUPER BONUS - it has public restrooms. Like real ones. Cool, huh? It was a little chilly, but we still managed to have a blast. And then Grandma Julie and Garrett came to have a picnic. Kennedy taught Garrett how to go down the big slide...fun times:

These boots are made for walkin...

So. For K's actual birthday on the 14th, Grandma Julie and Papa Brian took us to DQ. MMMM. This is what K left the house wearing.

Nuff said, right? Happy Birthday Kennedy:)

Now that we are two, there is soooo much to do!

Here is the princess the day after her birthday party. She was so excited, she couldn't decide what to play with first!!! She loves all of her new things - thank you to everyone:) She didn't know what to think of the princess dress from Grandma Julie and Papa - until we put it ON - then she spun circles and wore her tiara from Ian and Cael and used the princess wand as a microphone. She loves to sing!
Addie and Elias and Emerson gave Kennedy this princess cd player. She carries it around like a little purse and dances away! Perfect:)
This is the coolest puzzle ever. If you don't have one, I strongly suggest it!!! She loves to take each animal and make it's corresponding sound and then she fits them back in their spots. It was a perfect choice from Caden and Audrey (and their mommy and daddy)...

We had to get K a new toddler bed because the crib she was in got recalled. She LOVES her Dora bed and Grandma Fae chose the perfect Dora bedding! She now has to use the comforter every night to sleep:) And she has to tell Dora, Boots and Map good night every night!

And what a perfect idea!!! Bath bubbles. She was sooo excited for the Dora bath bubbles, she played in the bath for-ev-er! Then I got the Mr. Bubbles foam soap and scrubbie. I told her to scrub her belly, so she did, but then the soap was gone. She asked for "more soap" and so it didn't disappear, she sat there so still w/ the soap still on the scrubbie - she didn't want to let it go:) Thanks Della and Darci!
We got sooo many other great gifts, photos to come soon. Miss K is still singing Happy Birthday to Kennenny (that's how she says it); she had her birthday party at Lorie's yesterday and we took Blues Clues cupcakes and party supplies. FUN FUN FUN.

Birthday Party for a 2 year old Princess...

Yesterday was K's birthday party day. Blue's Clues was the theme. She was singing 'Happy Birthday' all day, and is actually quite good at it. When she woke up from her nap, Rachael and I had the place decorated and ready to go. She was soooo excited, she thought 'Happy Birthday' was just where the balloons/cake were located. She would come down the stairs and say, "where happy birthday? there it is!" We had a great time - thanks to all that could come, we hope you had fun b/c we sure did. I'm just going to post some pics and stop talking.
Waiting for the guests to arrive. Opening presents. With the help of our friends - thank you, friends!!! Blowing out the candle. Eating cake w/ Addie. Overview of the backyard scene. Playing on the slip & slide w/ Connor!
Chillin at the end of the night (4 hours later!) w/ Della and Addie.
Thanks again to everyone for coming to help us celebrate 2 years!!! We had such a good time and hope you all did as well:)

Birthday Princess. Almost.

It's hard to believe that in 5 days our little princess will turn 2! I don't even know where the last year went, but here we are. It has been soooo amazing to watch her grow - seeing her learn is one of the most remarkable things. Everyday there is something new. And exciting. For all of us.
Today we went to Picture People for two year pics. The first shot was the best one. I think it is the bottom one in this post. I say it was the best because after the first set of flashes, we were in trouble. K was so excited to stand on the white tarp and she started to dance around. When the photographer said "say cheese", she did so without issue. Then the flashes came. She turned, looked at me and her little bottom lip puckered out. She ran to me and exclaimed, "that scared me!!!" It about broke my heart. I thought for sure we would have to try again later, but somehow the girl got some good shots. I have included a few of them here. We only had 12 to choose from, but I was very pleased with them - I am not kidding when I say that K was LESS than cooperative. Enjoy (and pardon the watermark on the photos, I didn't feel like scanning them in)!!!

Please pardon our delay....

You must excuse the lack of posting. We just went through a VERY long "holiday" weekend with 2nd molars. Apparently I am the first of ANYONE I KNOW to have this be an issue (or shame on you if you experienced this awful experience and didn't warn me!), but it was ROUGH.

So here is the story: Wednesday evening was full of shrilly little "Noooooo"s and whiny little cries. Following suit; Wednesday night there was NO sleep for mom or Kennedy. Thursday we noticed the massive amounts of slobber, along with the crabbiest girl ever. Realizing that Miss K was not sucking her fingers, which is her signature, and with no fever or any other symptoms we finally looked in her mouth and saw the little buggers coming in. Friday we purchased the "big kid" tylenol, because she is sooo almost 2, and loaded her up. Saturday wasn't much better, but we did go to Grandma Julie and Papa Brian's for a BBQ and as long as she didn't eat or drink anything, she was fine. Watched some fire works at the neighbors and passed out on the car ride home. Sunday, she woke up in a much better mood and by Monday, she was back to her little sweet self. PHEW.

So. We have no pictures to post, bummer I know, but hope to have something VERY soon:)
